Motorhome aire in Gelves (Seville): secure, 10 min from the centre

The service area we wished for when visiting Seville without tearing our hair out looking for parking: secure, ten minutes from the centre, and easy on the wallet. Here is our honest verdict after two visits by camper van (spring, then Christmas).

The aire is located in Gelves, just south-west of Seville, dedicated to motorhomes and vans, on a supervised car park. So no, this is not picturesque countryside: it is ugly, it is a car park, but it is secure. And for a stay in Seville, that is exactly what you want.

Why we recommend it

On our second visit (the Christmas weekend), we parked the camper van here without hesitation. Once you are inside the gated area, you can breathe: no need to keep an eye on the van, you can head into the city centre with peace of mind. A small scene we witnessed: next to us, a French traveller was parked with a beach buggy attached to the back of his motorhome. “So classy”, as Caroline would put it.

Rates

  • Current price: around €14 per night (it used to be €10, prices have crept up over the years)
  • Water, waste disposal and electricity available on site
  • Car park supervised day and night

How to reach the centre of Seville

The aire is about eight kilometres from Seville’s historic centre. Easiest option: car (ten minutes outside rush hour) or local bus. If you want to walk, allow at least an hour and a half along the Guadalquivir, a nice stroll, but a long one.

What we take away

If you are visiting Seville by camper van or van, this is most likely the simplest and most relaxed option. No need to hunt for three hours for a free spot in the city centre (a bad idea anyway), no need to worry about your vehicle while you are out exploring. Our full Seville camper van guide covers the rest: a five to seven day itinerary, monuments to book in advance, and stories from the road.
