Since 2020, we (Caroline and Xavier) have been working tirelessly to grow Vantour, to increase its visibility, credibility, and of course, its audience. Thanks to our two quite different yet complementary profiles, we have gained over 130,000 followers across all networks since the beginning of this adventure, and also worked with internationally renowned partners. In this article, we will tell you who we are professionally and what services we can bring to your business or organization.
Who are we professionally?
Caroline
A true lover of art, I quickly chose a path that would allow me to express myself to the fullest and thus flourish: dance. At the same time, I chose a professional path that would allow me to satisfy two other passions of mine: travel and communicating with people. I therefore chose to study tourism, and specialized in languages such as English and Italian.
These skills allowed me to work as a travel agent, but also as a saleswoman at the “Montreux Palace”, one of the most prestigious hotels in Switzerland. The professional obligations of my partner at the time then brought me to the French Riviera where I was once again able to be in contact with clients in the various jobs I held, such as receptionist at a private beach on the Croisette in Cannes, but also Guest Relation in a bistronomic restaurant in that same city. With COVID having taken its toll on tourism jobs, I transitioned with Xavier to create what is now my full-time job: Vantour.
Xavier
A true computer enthusiast, I started working in this field early on (since 2001) as a technical sales representative in computer assembly and troubleshooting, allowing me to understand the hardware workings of a computer and its components. At the same time, I was already interested in the web universe (we’re talking about a time when Google was emerging and Facebook didn’t exist) and in creating websites where I was able, since 2006, to own sites generating 150,000 unique visitors per day.
The success of these sites allowed me to create my company in 2008, which I kept for just under ten years and in which I offered website creation and computer troubleshooting services. This period made me interested in Google SEO and web marketing, which led me to close my business in 2015 while keeping my main clients as a freelancer to join a start-up that developed a mobile application for tourist guides: “Monument Tracker”, where I handled web marketing, as well as mobile app store optimization.
This was surely the position that made me want to discover more about the world and travel! The application did not achieve the expected success, and one of the management members headhunted me to join a hotel group where I currently hold the position of Web Project Manager, where my goal is to manage website management, conversion, social media, acquisition, and graphic creation.
