As you might expect, Ecoflow has just created a new product. It’s the world’s first portable refrigerator-freezer with an integrated ice maker and a removable battery, just like that.

The cooler has up to 24 hours of autonomy (powered by a removable 298 Wh battery). The ice maker is claimed to produce 18 ball-shaped ice cubes in less than 12 minutes (sounds incredible).

The cooler’s battery has a capacity of 298 Wh, allowing it to provide up to 24 hours of refrigeration or 10 hours of freezing. Of course, like all products from the brand, a special plug allows the cooler to be charged directly with solar energy.

Customize Your Cooler to Your Liking

The Ecoflow cooler or fridge allows you to create two customizable compartments, two zones, one for the fridge section and the other for the freezer section.

These two double storage compartments are customizable with independent temperature control for simultaneous cooling and freezing. The total capacity is 38 litres and can hold up to 60 cans of cola.

The portable compressor refrigerator-freezer has two compartments allowing users to control the temperature independently. It can thus be a fridge/freezer, freezer/fridge, fridge/fridge, freezer/freezer, allowing users to cool drinks and freeze meat at the same time.

The Ice Cube Creation

One might wonder how Ecoflow managed the feat of creating ice cubes with this kind of cooler/fridge/freezer! Well, it’s thanks to an ultra-clever system housed in a small drawer.

The ice cubes resemble small bullets and can be created in 12 minutes (under conditions of 25°C outside and water at 15°C). But admit it, it’s still quite an achievement.

An Energy-Efficient Portable Fridge?

The company has focused on the energy efficiency of this product: with the ECO energy-saving mode, the operating mode is less than 80W, thus consuming much less than 0.254 kWh/day thanks to its intelligent working cycle.

For the fastest cooling with a 120W compressor: when operating in ‘Max’ mode empty, the freezer rapidly cools from 30°C/86°F to 0°C/32°F in just 15 to 20 minutes.

Freezer or fridge: with a temperature range from +10°C/+50°F to -25°C/-13°F, you can use the Glacier as a freezer or a fridge.

Robust and Insulated Design with Eco-Friendly Materials

Let’s now delve into the “eco-friendly” aspect of the product. EcoFlow’s cooler is built using Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIP). The thermal efficiency of VIPs is extremely high, especially when compared to traditional insulators. What’s the advantage then? Well, this significantly reduces the product’s energy consumption. Moreover, the production of VIPs does not result in the discharge of toxic wastewater, residual gases, or other pollutants, giving the Glacier excellent ecological characteristics.

Controlled by Your Mobile Phone and Charges Your Devices

Like 99.9% of the brand’s products, your new companion can be controlled with the awesome Ecoflow mobile app. The EcoFlow app allows temperature control via WiFi or Bluetooth and provides performance history, internal temperatures, remaining operating time, etc.

Well, it’s still a cooler, but it’s still pretty cool to have these kinds of stats, but maybe that’s just my geeky side!

With this product, Ecoflow is catering to occasional nomadism. I’m thinking of those who equip themselves with roof tents and head out for adventure for a short or long weekend, or even van life enthusiasts in a small van. Of course, it also has its place in the storage compartments of large motorhomes as a supplementary fridge, for those who have the budget and don’t want to move during their aperitifs (lol).
