Description
The Jackery Flexible 200W is 200 W of solar power in a flexible format. You can forget it on the roof of the van: low profile, no handling, it produces as soon as it’s daylight. It is offered in a set of 4 panels, totaling 800 W of solar power.
What useful solar power can you get in a day?
On paper, 200 W, but in real life, it depends on the sun, the season, and the orientation. On a nice day, expect to recover between 800 and 1000 Wh. In practical terms, this is enough to seriously recharge a station of 1 to 2 kWh during the day: it’s the power that shifts solar from a simple supplement to a real energy source in a van.
Flexible: installation on the roof
The big advantage of a flexible panel is that it can be mounted flat on a curved surface and remains discreet, without protruding. It weighs 3.2 kg. In return, it does not have a self-supporting leg: you don’t tilt it towards the sun like a rigid panel, you install it permanently. It’s the ideal option for those who want to integrate solar power into the vehicle once and for all. Its ETFE surface withstands rain (IP68).
Compatibility: what connection?
On the cell side, it uses monocrystalline ETFE rated for about 24% efficiency. The panel powers Jackery Explorer stations as well as other brands with the appropriate adapter. Just make sure that the panel’s voltage falls within the solar input range (MPPT) of your station, especially if you connect multiple panels in series.
Choosing wisely based on your usage
For a self-sufficient van with a station of 1 to 2 kWh, this is the right size: powerful enough to count on, portable enough to remain practical.
