Description
Let’s be clear right away: with the BS5000 PRO, we are no longer talking about the small portable battery that you slip under the bench of the van. We are on a real home storage battery, 5.2 kWh, designed to stay in place and provide you with solar self-consumption or backup in case of a power cut.
This is a shift we see with almost all brands: portable station manufacturers, as the price of cells decreases and performance increases, are moving into residential storage. AllPowers is following the trend, and honestly, the finish is really neat, brushed front and charging light strip, we are far from garage DIY.
A usage clarification before anything else, because it matters: this model is not made for travel. 65 kg, IP65, mains connection, this is clearly intended for stationary use.
Who is the BS5000 PRO for?
In our classification, it is clearly a home storage solution, not a versatile road-trip option. It is well-suited for:
- a house or apartment with a balcony that wants to trim its bill by storing solar energy for evening use;
- areas where the network is unstable, where you want a backup that takes over without you noticing;
- anyone who wants to protect themselves from a major power cut, or from skyrocketing electricity bills.
For the ultra-light traveler who counts every kilo in their van, look elsewhere: this one is 65 kg stationary. A portable station like the R2500 would be much more suitable.
5.2 kWh, 2400 W, hybrid: the important numbers
The heart is a semi-solid LFP chemistry rated for 6,000 cycles, meaning years of daily use before seeing the capacity change. 5200 Wh of reserve, 2400 W output, enough to run a fridge, box, lighting, and even heavier loads like a microwave or kettle.
It is hybrid, meaning it works with the grid and off-grid. On the solar side, two MPPT inputs can handle up to 2000 W of panels. And since it is IP65, you can install it outside, on a balcony or in a garage, and let it operate between -20 and +60 degrees without worrying about the weather.
Hybrid and anti-injection: the connection
This is where it gets clever. The BS5000 PRO can inject from 0 to 2400 W into your system, with adjustable power, while powering your everyday devices. Coupled with the AllPowers smart meter, it adjusts to avoid sending back to the grid what you don’t want to give it.
And all this remains Plug & Play: no separate regulators, no bulky inverter, no usual tangle of cables from a home solar installation. Depending on your country and your electrical panel, entrusting the connection to an electrician is still a good idea, let’s not kid ourselves.
The backup: what it holds when the power goes out
In case of a power cut, its source inverter switches in less than 15 ms. In practical terms: the grid fails in the middle of the night, and you don’t even notice it, the fridge and box continue as if nothing happened. This is exactly the safety net we look for when living in an area where the power is unreliable.
Expandable from 5.2 to 15.6 kWh
If 5.2 kWh is not enough, it expands up to 15.6 kWh by connecting up to three units, and the solar input then rises from 2 to 6 MPPT, meaning up to 6 kW of panels. Two units are already enough to double your capacity. You can start reasonable and expand when the need arises, without having to buy everything again.
Control via the app
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth integrated, and above all a mobile control app that monitors all the energy: charge level, solar production, consumption, injection settings. This is what transforms a large block of batteries into something you can really manage on a daily basis, from the couch.
Why buy from Vantour?
Because here you buy directly from AllPowers, without third-party resellers: 100% authentic and official product, stocks managed by the brand, and customer service guaranteed by AllPowers for the longest possible duration (the BS5000 PRO is covered by a 5-year warranty). No grey market parts from a dubious marketplace.
On the pricing side, to give you a concrete idea:
£1999,00 at the brand, and £1799,10 with our code VANTOUR (-10% off).We know the range, not (yet) this model
Honesty first: we haven’t had the BS5000 PRO in our hands, so you won’t read a fake review here. However, we are closely following AllPowers, we have already scrutinized several of their portable stations, and on paper, this home storage holds up perfectly. If you are still unsure about the type of device you need, take a look at our buying guide to choose well.
PS: at a time when we are being told that soon all electricity will be used to run AIs, building your own little personal reserve at home is not absurd.
