Well, I need to tell you about a battery that I really like and that, curiously, almost no one talks about in Britain. The AllPowers R2500. I’ve had it for about a year, moving it from the van to the balcony, plugging it in to charge scooters, and I realize I’ve never taken the time to write down what I really think about it. I made the video. The article, never. So, let’s fix that today, with photos and real-life experience, not the manufacturer’s blabla.
A little clarification before we start, because it matters: it’s an Asian brand, but the branding is so American (the name, the design, the big ALLPOWERS letters on the front) that you could be mistaken. And honestly, in daily use, it performs like a serious station.

Even before getting into the details, watch it handle my toughest test (including a 2000 W hairdryer), the screen doesn’t lie:
What exactly is this R2500 (and the misleading name)
First trap, and I prefer to disarm it right away: the 2500 is watts, not capacity. Many people think they are buying 2500 Wh, while 2500 is the output power. The capacity is 2016 Wh on my version. And a recent subtlety, the brand now offers two variants on the same page: a basic V2 at 1920 Wh, and a PLUS version at 2016 Wh, which is mine (the one I tested). To be clear, between the two, in use, you won’t see the difference; it’s practically the same beast.
For the important numbers: 2016 Wh of capacity, 2500 W continuous output, 4000 W peak, all in pure sine wave (so clean for sensitive electronics). The battery is LiFePO4, the chemistry I prefer because it can handle over 3500 cycles, which is about ten years of daily use. In short, it’s a chemistry that won’t let you down in two years.

What I love right away about the R2500, and that I don’t find on most competitors, is its horizontal format. It’s low and wide, not tall and narrow like most stations. In a camper van, believe me, it makes all the difference.
Let me explain. I had a competing brand, vertical, that I simply couldn’t store under the bench and close it; it stuck out, it was always visible, cluttering the passage. The AllPowers, being lower, slides underneath without any problem, and I can close it on top. The height gain, in fact, is paid for by the width, but in a van, it’s exactly the right compromise. You gain living space, and the battery disappears.
The round-up of ports (and the little silicone covers that I love)
Now, we move on to the detail that really makes me love this battery, and it’s a simple thing: the silicone covers. There’s almost one for each port. On the front, you have four 230V AC outlets, two USB-C 100W (real 100W, verified), two USB-A (one 18W and one 12W), a 12V car cigarette lighter socket, and a DC output. And almost each one has its little soft cap to protect it.
Why is this a real plus and not just a gadget? Because I have another brand left on the balcony whose front ports have oxidized over time. The AllPowers, placed in the same spot, exposed to the same humidity, nothing at all. In a humid region, or to take it to a dusty job site, these covers make a real difference. A small honesty caveat: the two USB-A share one cover for both, while each USB-C has its own, but overall it’s much better thought out than the competition that gives you one big cover for a whole group of ports.

We’ll come back to that.
I pushed it: 2000 W hairdryer and everything else at the same time
The moment I like most in a test is when I try to make the device trip. Here, I really wanted to push it. I plugged in, at the same time: an iPad, a power bank, a scooter, a drone (well, its batteries), and on top of all that a 2000 W hairdryer. All plugged in together.

And it didn’t flinch. Not a hesitation, not a safety cut-off. On the screen, I saw the output rise to 2249 W, easy (the photo is there, I’m not making this up). If I stopped around 2200 W, it’s not because it was weakening, it’s simply because I had nothing else to plug in. Let me tell you, if it can handle a 2000 W hairdryer without batting an eye, it can easily power a drill or a grinder.

Charging: AC, solar, car, and the dual input
On the charging side, AllPowers has been generous, and for once in a good way. There are five ways to fill it up: via AC, through the car’s cigarette lighter, solar, combining AC and solar (the famous dual input), or even via a generator. The solar port is a proprietary connector (the orange one in the photos), but rest assured, it’s a standard found in several brands, so no hassle finding compatible panels.

In solar mode, it can take in up to 1000 W, which is already substantial. And by combining AC and solar, you get close to an hour to fully recharge, which is still very reasonable for 2 kWh. The screen, by the way, gives you the estimated remaining autonomy, here four days at rest, and it’s the kind of little comfort that avoids doing mental calculations.
UPS, WiFi, and app: it can also serve as home backup
Where it goes beyond just being a van battery is that it includes a UPS inverter function, with a switch-over around 15 ms. In plain terms, you plug your workstation into it, the power goes out, and your devices don’t even notice. A small honest technical nuance: in UPS mode, the output is capped around 1500 W (a matter of a 15A household socket), but to protect a computer, hard drives, a box, it’s more than sufficient.
It is also connected, WiFi and Bluetooth, with the AllPowers app that allows you to monitor the charge in real-time, adjust settings, and perform updates remotely. And above all, it is expandable: with B1000 extension modules, you can increase it to about 20 kWh. This is what makes it switch, when you want, to the side of true home backup. Well, not everything is perfect, and I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t mention the weight. It’s around 20 kg on the scale, and in terms of feel, when you have to carry it up three floors without an elevator to reach the apartment, you definitely feel it, believe me. This is not a battery you move ten times a day; it’s a station you set down.
Fortunately, and this is a well-thought-out detail, the handles are integrated into the cooling system, so you really have something to grip on both sides, with two hands, without twisting your fingers. This doesn’t make the kilos disappear, but it makes transport much more bearable than a station where you don’t know where to grab it. There you go, that’s the price to pay for this power and robustness; it’s up to you to see if it fits your needs.
So, who is this AllPowers R2500 for?
Personally, I recommend it to those who want a sturdy and versatile station, capable of handling heavy appliances in a van as well as providing home backup, without having to break the bank on a hyper-premium brand. It is solid, well-finished (details like the silicone covers show its seriousness), expandable, and fits under the bench. If you’re looking for ultra-light for hiking, look elsewhere; this is not its terrain. But for a more sedentary camper profile, it is excellent.
