Description
The SolarFlow 3000 Mix AC+ is the entry-level model of Zendure's Mix range. It shares the same design as its two bigger brothers, with a 8 kWh LiFePO4 battery, a metal casing on wheels, and an emergency output, but it removes everything related to direct panel connection and expansion.
It is a device for home use, designed for a household that already produces its electricity and wants to keep more for the evening.
Who is this device for?
It targets homes already equipped with panels and an inverter, with a surplus during the day that goes back to the grid. The battery stores this surplus and then releases it when production stops. You keep your installation as is and you do not add any panels to benefit from it.
It is not a van or camping device: at 81 kg and 462 x 234 x 820 mm, it is set in place once and for all. The wheels are for positioning it, and Zendure recommends two to three adults whenever it needs to be lifted.
If you are starting from scratch, without panels or an inverter, this model is not the right starting point. It has no direct solar input.
Key features to know
The battery shows 8,038.4 Wh for 314 Ah at 25.6 V, with a charge and discharge power of 4,000 W on the cell side. Zendure claims 10,000 cycles at 70% remaining health, measured at 0.5C, and a round-trip efficiency of 90%. The warranty is for 10 years.
The casing is IP65 certified and operates from -20 to 55 °C, with one nuance to note: charging stops below 0 °C, only discharging goes down to -20 °C. The noise level is stated to be 25 dB at half charge, and about 40 dB at full power.
On plug or dedicated circuit: the real limit
This is the point to understand before buying. The 3,000 W figure from the manufacturer’s specification cannot be obtained from just any socket. By default, the manual limits the device to 800 W, and to 900 W for the UK, in both directions.
At 900 W, filling 8 kWh takes about 9 hours, excluding losses. To reach 3,000 W, a dedicated line is required: a 16 A circuit breaker for this single socket, 2.5 mm² cable, and no other device on the circuit. If your home does not have one, the manual refers you to a qualified electrician.
What the backup allows, and what it does not
The off-grid output delivers 3,680 W continuously, with a peak of 7,200 W for 200 ms and a switch-over time of 10 ms. Enough to keep the essential devices you plug into it running.
A single unit does not support the entire house, Zendure specifies. This requires a broader architecture, with the PowerHub sold separately.
What it does not do compared to the 4000 Mix
Three differences justify the price gap. The 3000 Mix AC+ does not have a PV-IN AC port to connect a rooftop inverter directly. It caps at 3,000 W compared to 4,000 W. And its FAQ indicates that adding extension batteries is not supported.
On this last point, the French page of Zendure contradicts itself: one section mentions an extension up to 50 kWh, while the model's FAQ answers no. We take the more cautious answer, namely a fixed capacity of 8 kWh.
What buyers say
We have not had this device in hand. The following feedback comes from the 5 customer reviews published on the Zendure store, published by the brand and to be read as such. Julien Girard praises the control with the 3CT-S meter, but takes away one star because the product is noisy at full power, which aligns with the stated 40 dB. Jean Pierre Maruzzi reports an account that only worked with a Gmail address, after a refusal of his SFR address.

Our verdict
Benefits
- 8 kWh to store the surplus of an existing installation, at the lowest price in the Mix range
- Connection to Schuko socket with the supplied cable
- Off-grid output of 3,680 W, with a switch-over time of 10 ms
- Metal housing IP65, usable from -20 to 55 °C
- 10,000 cycles announced and 10-year warranty
Disadvantages
- Fixed capacity: the manufacturer states that no expansion battery is supported
- No AC PV-IN port or direct solar input
- Limited to 900 W in the UK on a standard socket, 3,000 W requiring a dedicated circuit
- 81 kg, to be handled by two or three adults
The logical choice if you already have panels and 8 kWh covers your evenings. If you want to add capacity one day or connect a rooftop inverter directly, consider the 4000 Mix AC+ instead.
