Description
The SolarFlow 4000 Mix Pro is the hybrid model of the Mix range. While the AC+ versions connect to an existing installation, it directly accommodates the panels thanks to a dual high voltage MPPT of 8,000 W.
It retains the 8 kWh of LiFePO4 from the range and adds the 5,000 W AC PV-IN port, bringing the total solar input to 13 kW. It is a fixed home equipment, to be installed by a professional.
Who is this device for?
It primarily targets new installations, where the panel strings connect directly to the device without a separate inverter. It is also suitable for a home that already has a rooftop inverter and wants to add new panels in DC, as the two inputs combine.
On the other hand, it is not of interest to those who only want to store the surplus from an existing rooftop: the 4000 Mix AC+ fulfills this role for less money. And it cannot be installed alone: the Zendure page indicates a mandatory installation by an electrician, with costs not included in the price.
Features to know
The battery displays 8,038.4 Wh in LiFePO4, or 314 Ah at 25.6 V, with 10,000 cycles announced at 70% remaining health and a round-trip efficiency of 90%. The casing is IP65 and operates from -20 to 55 °C, with charging limited to positive temperatures.
The manual states 82 kg for 462 x 234 x 820 mm, and the store FAQ mentions 80 kg. The noise level is reported at 25 dB at half charge and around 40 dB at full power.
Sizing your panels on the dual MPPT
Each MPPT accepts 4,000 W, with a range of 30 to 400 V, 17.2 A in operation and 18 A in short circuit. The manual sets a simple rule: series wiring only, parallel is not supported on these inputs. The open-circuit voltage of the string must be checked before connection.
Two pairs of PV connectors are provided. The PV-IN AC port remains available for a non-plug-in single-phase inverter, up to 5,000 VA.
The 13 kW, to be read with the charging limit
The 13 kW describes what the device can receive, not what the battery can absorb. On a single unit, the Zendure FAQ caps the charge at 4 kW, whether the energy comes from solar, the grid, or both. The technical sheet goes to 10,000 W only with an additional battery.
Same caution on output. The manual indicates 800 W by default, and 900 W for France on outlet. The 4,000 W falls under a Premium setting activated by a professional, and 5,000 W assumes a coupled inverter in AC. Injection remains subject to local regulations.
Backup and extension
The off-grid output delivers 3,680 W continuously, with a peak of 7,200 W for 200 ms and a switch-over announced in 10 ms. In compatible configurations, the panels continue to charge the battery and power this output during a daytime outage. A single unit does not back up the entire home, Zendure specifies.
The extension is announced up to 50 kWh, but compatible batteries are not yet marketed according to the manual, and older Zendure packs do not work with this range.
What buyers say
We have not had this device in hand, and feedback remains rare. The Zendure store displays only one customer review for this model, from Joffrey Wery, a former user of Hyper 2000, who speaks of premium finish and good management. A single review published by the brand is not enough to judge reliability over time.
