Description
The SolarFlow 800 Pro 2 combines in one unit what previously required three separate devices: a solar controller, a battery, and an inverter, plus an emergency outlet usable in case of a power outage. It is designed for home use, in addition to panels installed on a balcony, terrace, or garden shed.
Its specifications can be summarized in four figures: 1,920 Wh of integrated LiFePO4 battery, a MPPT of 2,640 W distributed over 4 inputs, a 1,000 W bidirectional inverter, and a possible extension up to 11,520 Wh.
Who is this device for?
It is aimed at those who already have panels or are about to install them and notice that the surplus produced during the day goes back to the grid for free while evening consumption is paid at full price. This is exactly the problem this device solves: it stores during the day and releases in the evening.
It is also suitable for those who want an emergency outlet to keep a freezer, internet box, or lighting during a power cut, without installing a complete backup system.
On the other hand, this is not a portable device. With its 22.6 kg and dimensions of 392.7 x 236.3 x 276 mm, it is designed to be set up once and forgotten. For a van or camper, a portable power station is the right product.
What the equipment really brings
The most interesting technical point is the low voltage startup. While most systems wait for 18 V to start producing, this one starts at 14 V. This effectively expands the useful range during the early and late hours of the day and on overcast days. The manufacturer claims an additional 10 to 20% of energy captured over a full day.
The 4 MPPT inputs accept 660 W each, within a voltage range of 14 to 55 V. This 55 V limit is the main constraint to keep in mind when choosing panels: exceeding it permanently damages the system. The manufacturer recommends sizing the panels up to 1.5 times the power of the MPPT, as actual production often remains well below the theoretical maximum.
The 1,000 W bidirectional inverter requires careful reading: it accepts 1,000 W in input and delivers 1,000 W on the off-grid outlet, but the output connected to the grid is limited to 800 W, which corresponds to the regulatory ceiling applicable to installations of this type.
The emergency outlet, and what it does not do
In case of a power cut, the switch to battery occurs in less than 15 milliseconds, with 1,000 W available continuously and a peak of 1,200 W for 10 seconds. The function must be activated in advance in the app.
Two limits should be known before purchasing, and they are not highlighted by the manufacturer.
The device stops supplying power to the house network during a power cut, in accordance with European regulations. Only the off-grid outlet remains powered: devices to be maintained must be plugged directly into it, or the wiring must be planned accordingly.
A micro-inverter plugged into the emergency outlet will not work during a power cut. The reason is technical: deprived of the grid, the device switches to an isolated neutral mode, and a micro-inverter is not allowed to operate in this mode. Testers have reported receiving incorrect information from the manufacturer on this point before verifying it themselves.
What independent testers say
We have not had this device in hand. The feedback below comes from third-party testers, mostly German-speaking, and we report them as such. This imbalance is not a coincidence: balcony solar storage is a structured market in Germany, with channels that quantify the return on investment year by year.
The most frequently cited figure comes from an owner after a year of use: four panels and one storage paid off in three years, then about €300 earned each year thereafter. Another, facing southwest, believes that a storage of 5 kWh is more than sufficient for a family of three.
Two technical pitfalls deserve to be pointed out, as they are easy to commit. The first: the RJ45 socket of the device is not a network port. It looks like one but carries an RS485 connection. One tester even published a correction after claiming otherwise in their video. The second: efficiency degrades under slow load, which is due to low power efficiency rather than standby consumption.
One purchasing advice comes up regularly: order the modules all at once rather than in two deliveries, as shipping costs apply to each shipment.
The underlying downside: a market that looks alike
It would be dishonest not to say it. One tester summarizes the situation bluntly: devices with very similar values and shapes now exist from several manufacturers, and the differences between them have become marginal.
What truly distinguishes this one is the integration into a single unit, the startup at 14 V, and the energy management driven by algorithms that take into account weather forecasts and rates. If these three points do not meet your needs, a competing model will perform just as well.
Compatibility and extension
The device accepts Zendure AB1000, AB1000S, AB2000, AB2000S, and AB2000X batteries, up to five additional modules, for a total of 11,520 Wh. The AB1000 and AB2000 series can be mixed. However, the AB3000X battery is not compatible with this model, a point to check before ordering a standalone battery.
A Zendure 3CT-S or 1CT-S smart meter is offered as an option. It allows adjusting the discharge power to the actual consumption of the household, and it enables fine control rather than fixed power injection.

Our verdict
Benefits
- Solar controller, battery, and inverter in one box, with a backup socket
- Starts at 14 V compared to 18 V on traditional systems: the useful range expands in the morning and evening
- Four MPPT inputs of 660 W, allowing for 2,640 W of panels accepted
- Switches in less than 15 ms to the off-grid socket, 1,000 W continuous
- 10-year warranty, IP65, battery self-heating for cold conditions
Disadvantages
- A micro-inverter plugged into the backup socket does not work during a power outage
- The RJ45 socket looks like a network port but carries RS485
- Input voltage capped at 55 V: exceeding this limit destroys the system
- 22.6 kg, it's a device that you set down once, not a portable product
- Saturated market of very similar devices from several brands, the differences have become marginal
Relevant if you already have panels and your surplus goes back to the grid for free. The startup at 14 V and the integration into a single box are its real advantages. Check the voltage of your panels before ordering, and be aware that a micro-inverter will not be supported during a power outage. The AB3000X battery is not compatible with this model.
