Description

The SolarFlow 800 Plus is the entry-level model in the Zendure range for storing balcony production. It combines in a single unit a battery, two MPPTs, and the inverter, and plugs into a household socket. This specification concerns the device alone, without panels or meter.

Its specification boils down to four figures: 1,920 Wh of LiFePO4 battery, 1,500 W of panels announced on two inputs, 800 W output to the household grid, and a possible extension up to 11.52 kWh.

Who is this device for?

It is aimed at those who have a balcony, terrace, or small garden, few panels, and want to shift their solar production to the evening without any construction work. Zendure specifically targets renters and small living spaces.

It is not suitable if your priority is backup during a power outage: it does not have an off-grid socket. For this use, consider the SolarFlow 800 Pro 2 or the SolarFlow 1600 AC+. If your panels are already connected to a rooftop inverter, the 1600 AC+ is also the one to consider.

Key features to know

Each input accepts 14 to 55 V and 750 W according to Zendure, with a maximum current of 18 A. Starting at 14 V extends the usable range in the morning, evening, and in overcast weather. The 55 V limit is the first thing to check on your panel's specification.

The output to the house is capped at 800 W. On the battery side, the manufacturer states 1,200 W for charging and 800 W for discharging, and the charge from the grid accepts 1,000 W in alternating current. The device weighs 21.1 kg with dimensions of 393 x 236 x 242 mm: it is set up once, it is not a portable product.

Meter, application, and control

The Zendure app and Wi-Fi are necessary for setup. Three modes are offered: Zenki, Auto, and Expert. For the output to truly follow the household consumption, it is necessary to add a compatible meter, sold separately: Zendure Smart Meter 3CT or D0/P1, Shelly Pro 3EM, Shelly 3EM or Everhome EcoTracker IR. One buyer reports that in single-phase, he had to bridge terminals L2 and L3 with L1 on the 3CT.

Zendure announces a local control that remains responsive without internet, while another buyer writes that the device does not work without a permanent connection. We could not resolve this point: if your connection is unstable, ask the brand before ordering.

What independent tests and buyers say

We have not had this device in hand. The test from smartzone.de (in German) measures about 1,600 Wh usable out of the 1,920 Wh announced, with 16% losses in charging and discharging. It mainly notes that the two inputs used together cap at 1,300 W, or 650 W per MPPT, and not the 1,500 W on the specification. The magazine praises the finish, the reliability of injection, and the app.

The same test notes a heating consumption of 75 W and a charging limited to 370 W at 3 °C, 800 W at 14 °C, and 1,200 W from 21 °C. On the Zendure store, several buyers regret that the panel cables are too short: make sure to measure the distance and, if necessary, extensions.

Compatibility and extension

Up to five batteries can stack on the device, for a total of 11.52 kWh. Zendure indicates the AB1000 and AB2000 series, with a preference for the AB2000X, and also sells the AB2000L as a compatible accessory. The connection is made through stacking, not through a cable.

The official page specifies that two SolarFlow units do not work in parallel or with a previous generation, while announcing up to six units managed by the energy management system. In other words, multiple devices can be coordinated, each on its socket.

Why buy from Vantour?

The button on this page takes you directly to the official Zendure store: an authentic product, stock managed by the brand, and after-sales service provided by them. We track the price of the device alone and display it here continuously, along with any ongoing discount codes.

In terms of pricing, to give you a concrete idea: £472,81 at the brand, and £434,99 with our code EUAF5F (-8% off).

The warranty announced by Zendure is 10 years. The casing is certified IP65, and the recommended temperature range is from -20 to 55 °C. In winter, the brand advises charging the battery to at least 60% before a prolonged shutdown.

Our verdict

4
4/5 — Very well Note from the editorial team Vantour

Benefits

  • Battery, MPPT, and inverter combined in a single unit, plugged into a socket
  • Starts from 14 V, useful in the morning, evening, and overcast weather
  • Two MPPT inputs, suitable for a small balcony installation
  • Expandable up to 11.52 kWh with five batteries
  • IP65 and advertised 10-year warranty

Disadvantages

  • No off-grid charging: no backup during a power outage
  • Two inputs limited to 1,300 W in total in the smartzone.de test, compared to the advertised 1,500 W
  • Meter sold separately to monitor home consumption
  • Approximately 1,600 Wh usable measured against the advertised 1,920 Wh
  • Very limited charging in cold weather according to the same test

A good starting point if you have a balcony, two panels, and some surplus to shift towards the evening. Plan for a meter to take advantage of it. If you want a backup socket, go straight to the SolarFlow 800 Pro 2 or the 1600 AC+.

Frequently Asked Questions

Has this product been tested by Vantour?
No, and we say so clearly. We have not had it in our hands. The specifications come from Zendure's documentation, and the user feedback comes from the smartzone.de test and buyer reviews published on the Zendure store, which we quote as such.
Does the displayed price include panels or a meter?
No. This page covers the device alone. Panels, the smart meter and additional batteries are sold separately.
Can it be plugged into a household socket?
Yes, according to Zendure, which states compliance with VDE-AR-N 4105 and VFR 2019. Still check the declaration rules that apply where you live.
Does it work during a power cut?
No. It has no off-grid socket and is designed to work with the grid. For a backup socket, look at the SolarFlow 800 Pro 2 or the 1600 AC+.
Which panels can be connected?
Those whose voltage stays between 14 and 55 V, on two inputs. Zendure announces 750 W per input, but smartzone.de measured 650 W per input when both are used together.
What is the difference with the SolarFlow 800 Pro 2?
Both have a 1,920 Wh battery. The 800 Pro 2 adds a backup socket and four MPPT inputs, while the 800 Plus is limited to two inputs and has no off-grid output.
