Insta360 Black Friday 2026: X6, Luna and GO Ultra

This page is for those waiting for Black Friday to treat themselves to an Insta360, and who don’t want to choose their camera based on a percentage discount. Because at Insta360, the real question isn’t “how much discount,” it’s “which one,” and between a 360 camera, a mini POV, and a gimbal camera, you’re not buying the same thing at all. We have several in hand: an X6 taken to the caves of Lagos, a GO Ultra that follows us daily, a Luna Ultra bought with our own money (yes, we paid for that one) and a Luna Pro that went to Caroline. So I’ll tell you what’s worth it in the sale, and for whom.

Insta360 X6 Black Friday: the 360 camera that changed our minds

We had turned down the X5. The bulging rendering, the little planets, I personally found it ugly. Then the X6 arrived, we accepted it without much belief, and we took it out on a boat in the caves of Ponta da Piedade: 8K at 50 frames per second, a 1-inch equivalent sensor, waterproof up to 20m. What changes compared to the X5, and our real reservation, is in our review of the Insta360 X6.

GO Ultra: the mini camera you forget you’re wearing

53 grams, hands-free, and finally a camera that films without forcing you to look at it. Be careful, this is not the GO 3S, it’s a separate range, and the voice assistant hides a little trap that we discuss in our review of the GO Ultra.

Luna Ultra or Luna Pro: the zoom makes all the difference

We bought the Luna Ultra ourselves after Insta360 said no, so we were a bit less accommodating with it. Two months of filming later, our verdict is in our review of the Luna Ultra. The Luna Pro features the 1-inch sensor, Leica optics, native vertical, and a detachable screen. It went to Caroline, who creates content for brands, while I kept the Ultra, and this sharing already says a lot: our opinion on the Luna Pro. The only difference that really separates the two is the zoom range, and if the promotion applies to one and not the other, it’s the deciding factor.

The telephoto lens for the Luna Ultra: the accessory to grab in the sale

Camera only or pack: what really changes the price

Insta360 often sells its cameras in packs, with invisible pole, extra batteries, or case. During the sale, the pack is often more interesting than the camera alone plus the accessories bought separately, provided you actually use what it contains. Before finalizing, compare two things: the price of the pack against that of the camera alone plus the two accessories you actually need, and today’s price against that of Black Friday week. Note it down now, it’s the simplest way to spot a fake discount.

Which one to choose based on what you film?

You want to capture everything around you and crop later: the X6. You want to film what you’re doing without holding a camera: the GO Ultra. You want to film yourself, facing the camera, while traveling or for content: a Luna, and it’s the zoom that distinguishes the Ultra from the Pro. If you’re still hesitating, keep in mind that a camera you don’t take with you films worse than a lesser one that you always have on you (that’s one of my great truths, I found it out myself).

Do I need to buy a microSD card with my Insta360?

Yes for most models, and not just any card: in high-resolution video, a card that is too slow cuts the recording. Get a fast card recommended by Insta360 for your model, it is often one of the accessories found in bundles during the sale.

Is the Insta360 editing software paid?

No, the mobile app and Insta360 Studio on desktop are free. They are what you use to reframe 360 videos, so no need to budget for extra software.

Is Insta360 Care worth taking?

It mainly covers accidental damage, which the normal warranty does not. For a camera that goes in the water, on a helmet or travelling, it is worth considering. For a camera that stays on a tripod, much less.

Can the free accessory from our code be swapped?

Normally not, it is the accessory set by the offer when you order. If you would rather have a different accessory, check whether a sale bundle already includes it, that is often the better deal.

Do Black Friday purchases get the same warranty?

Yes. A discount changes nothing: your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act apply whatever you paid, and the brand’s own warranty belongs to the product, not to the sale. Keep your invoice, it is what counts if something goes wrong.

Can I send back something I bought in the sale?

For an online order from the official shop, you normally have 14 days after delivery to cancel, sale or not. Read the returns policy before ordering though: return postage is often at your expense.

Will it arrive before Christmas?

That depends on stock and on the warehouse it ships from, not on Black Friday itself. Check the delivery time shown on the product page when you order: during big sales, some models switch to pre-order or delayed dispatch, and it is written in small print.

Is it worth waiting for Cyber Monday?

Not necessarily. Cyber Monday often extends the weekend deals more than it adds new ones, and some waves end before it. If the model that suits you is discounted now, waiting mostly means risking it going back to full price or out of stock.
